Cant Delete a DMG nor Eject

Hello, I have a MBP 2.2 GHZ C2D, I recently decided to take a copy of my school's verision of spss for an economics test that I have. I made a copy of the disk with mac the ripper, and then I ejected it. Well a DMG appeared and I cannot seem to delete it because it always says the DMG is in use. I also have the removeable disk icon for spss, and I cannot eject it because it says that it is in use. I have removed all files and everything I can think of, I would like to get the space back, any suggestions?
