I updated the latest patch but when I try to log in I get this error:

Please help!

Got uTorrent running? If it's running anywhere on your network it needs to be shut off.

It uses port 6112 which is required to make a connection to the WoW auth server (and also Battle.Net).

Are you sure you're firewall isn't blocking it? When ever I updated WoW, Norton would pop asking permission to allow Blizzard to access the internet.

never had a problem wiht utorrent and wow (except some lag in raids when im dl'ing to much lol)

Your best bet would be to uninstall the game and cancel your subscription :D

But on a more serious note, have you tried simply restarting your computer and turning off unnecessary programs that use the internet?

What's odd is it worked before, and I haven't really made any changes. No, I don't have any torrents running and I even disabled my windows firewall and it still wouldn't work.

But Utorrent randomizes port by default and you can manually change it anyway. I would check your router and open up a port wow uses?

you are using Battle.net account, there is a post in tech support forum

There is a file called DSound.dll in your World of Warcraft folder
you need to delete it, that's it
got same problem as you

utorrent uses random ports by default, and you can alter it to use different ports even if this is a problem.

Don't open ports in your firewall, most home routers open up incoming ports, all out going traffic should be allowed through providing the connection started inside your network, you just lessen your security opening ports like that, it's some other problem.

THANK YOU! Why was it causing this?
