Can't connect to HDTV

I have i5 processor and I was able to watch my movies that were on my PC through a HDMI cable on my HDTV.

I recently installed a XFX FURY X card and have it connected via displayport/hdmi cable to HDTV and my PC does not recognize the TV. How do I fix this?

When I right click on screen resolution under display the TV doesn't even show up.
