Can't change secondary drives?

Ok so yesterday I tried to swap out the 80 gig secondary HD for my 120 gig HD, and the computer did not like that! The primary drive is a WD Raptor 75gig on SATA. The old secondary is a WD 80gig, and the new is an IBM Deskstar 120gig. I tried disabling the second drive in the bios but it would not boot unless both WD drives were in the computer. What's even more interesting is that it will ONLY boot if the secondary WD drive is selected to boot first in the boot order! Wtf, is my computer confised? If the secondary drive is not selected to boot first, or is not installed, it gives me a boot drive error that says i need to enter a boot disc right below another message thats talking about Pool Data... Any ideas?

Sounds like your OS is actually installed on the secondary drive and not the raptor. :( Try removing the raptor and boot and see what you get..

I have this same issue with my current system. For some reason the windows installed put the boot loader on the non-primary install drive. A quick repair install with the old disk removed should fix it, then change boot order in bios, and put the new disk in.
