Can't Burn A DVD Image with Nero 8 Any More

I'm having a problem with my Nero burning software. Lately I haven't been able to successfully burn any DVD images. I always get this message, "Invalid block address," then my blank dvds turn into coasters. I wish Nero would just check the data to see if it can write it before it wastes a dvd. I'm not sure if I've made any changes to the settings or the system that would cause this to happen. I have messed around with my msconfig settings to disable some startup programs. Nero Home is the only program in msconfig that I disabled that looks related to the software. Any solutions?

I've had this problem in the past.
Turned out to be my optical drive.

Stop using Nero?

Seriously... there are plenty of free programs that do what you need and probably better. I much prefer IMGBURN to any other. Simple, clean interface. Burns perfect every time and verifies the burn afterward.
