Cant boot Windows XP Cd....Cd Rom is the first boot device...whats wrong???!?!??!

Im trying to reformat here tonight, CD/DVD rom is the first boot device, When it shows "to boot from cd press any key" i press keys everywhere and nothing happens almost as if the keyboard is not working, I know its working cause the lights are on on it and i can get into the BIOS before all of this even occurs.

Its pretty much not recognizing my keystrokes when its asking for them

any help?

If the drive cant read the CD at all, it wont matter how many times you hit the key, it wont boot it.

Make sure your CD drive is ok and the disc isnt scratched.

Other than that, no idea.
