hi, when i try to boot to safe mode i get "hal.dll" file corrupted msg..

bah, how can i fix this ? i dont have the bloody power to reformat :|

What version of windows? Do you have the install CD? If its XP, boot off the XP cd and use the recovery console to replace hal.dll.

It would help to know your OS. If it's Windows 2k or XP, try booting into "last known good configuration". If that doesn't work, use the recovery console Direwolf mentioned.
