Help please.

I burned a slipstreamed sp2 CD to install, but everytime i hit a key to boot from CD when it asks me to, it just spins up the disc and proceeds to the login screen of my current installation.

I have done this a million times it's just this time it seems like windows is loading to fast before the disc spins up!

I've already tried it with the real retail xp CD, even that won't boot. Of course i've got the proper boot order selected in the bios, and i even tried my bios's boot menu which lets me pick boot device as the system starts up. Any ideas?

I even disabled every boot device except the CDrom (including the HDD) yet it still boots into windows. Never had this problem before on this same exact build, I'm getting steamed >= (

Try reburning the disc at 1x speeds. Burning a boot disc at faster speeds often results in the CD not being bootable for whatever reason, especially on older CD-ROM drives. I've seen it happen many times before.

haha that's funny, my cousin had the same problem as me and burning at a slower speed fixed his issue but not mine, so he thanks you!!

I finally got it to boot by using an old PS/2 keyboard rather than my saitek usb kb (which worked fine for navigating the bios, entering the bios, boot menu etc... go figure).

Thank's :p
