Okay so my Aunt was having problems with her PC's modem, she drops it off at my place and I plug it in and it won't turn on. Turned out the PSU was dead so I swap in mine and then the BIOS hangs when it tries to POST the HD. I swap in my HD and it gets past that screen but hangs on the Windows XP boot screen. So I swap her HD into my computer, it tells me that there is no HD no matter what I do. The drive is an 80gig Western Digital Caviar and her mobo is an Aopen AK77-333 and the PSU was some no name brand, I've put an Antec one in now.
I don't know what the problem is with the mobo but I hope a bios update would fix that but the HD I can't figure out. Anyone have any ideas on what's happening? I'm going to check the WD site for any Customer Service stuff too.
