hey all, im workin up on OCing my 3800x2
right now, im stable at 260x10 w/ my ram running at a 1:1 ratio
my board is stable to at least 350 fsb (havent tried going farther)
when i dropped my HT link to 2x and set a 1:2 divider, my cpu was running fine at 285fsb w/ a multi of 9.5, it was prime stable for a few hours before i decided to stop it
however, when i sat my ram to a 1:1 ratio, i can get past the screen taht detects my hdd, ide and the toher stuff but it seems to reboot right after that...i was able to memtest when my cpu multi was at 5x and got 0 errors (running at 3-3-3-10)
anyone have any ideas to help me get this baby working?

a bit confusing, but anywho, you ram wont do 285 ? thats quite understandable for pc3200 ram
you mentioned it was ok when cpu was at 5x, but you didnt mention the fsb at that multi

haha, its kinda hard to explain but yeah, the fsb was at 285 when the cpu multi was 5x
u think lowering the timings to 3-4-4-8 wud help? or maybe running a divider? i want to stick to a 1:1 ratio but wud a divider hurt performance alot?
im running at 260fsb atm with timings of 2.5-2-3-8

yes but was it x5 cpu 1:1 ram and 285 fsb ? or x5 cpu 1:2 ram and 285fsb ? see I cant see that ram running 285

ah, i believe it was a 1:2 ratio  that might be the problem right there..but do u think i could hit 285 fsb with these ballistix? if so, with what timings/voltage? i was able to hit 270 at 3-3-3-8 with about 2.7v

260 x 10 is pretty damn good, try laxing the timings a bit and increasing the cpu voltage by like .25

dude here is what you should do, set everything 1:1 and slowly raise the fsb (5-10 increments) and run a few memtest loops (you can loop test 5 to save time, but only while working on the oc, on the final oc you should loop all tests for a few hours)
this will give you your max ram speed, then go from there
