Ok, I am planning on getting a new camera soon and have around $400 to spend. I have my choices narrowed down between the A80 and S50. Now, the S50 has some more features that I may or may not use (can take CF type II, has the tripod mount centered with the lens, can capture to RAW, and is a little smaller--can fit in a pocket easily). However, the A80 has some things that the S50 doesn't have like the ability to attach add-on lenses and the flip-out LCD screen. Other than that the cameras are pretty similar as far as features go. However, I was just wondering which would have better image quality. While the A80 is 4 MP and the S50 is 5 MP, both cameras have the same size sensor. I am just kind of wondering what the impact will be for image quality with the S50. I've heard that the S50 and G5 have noisier pictures than some of the 4 MP cameras, and produce more chromatic abberrations. However, I am wondering if it is really that bad. I am leaning towards the S50, but if the image quality isn't as good as that of the A80, then I am not sure. A 5 MP camera would be nice to have, but I would rather have a 4 MP camera that produced better images. If anyone has dealt with either or both of these, I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Hey, I have an a80 and love it. I have not use the other one though. The a80 is easy to use and outputs GREAT image quality. It is fairly quiet as well. The extra add on lense is def. a plus. I plan on gettin the wide lense converter soon.

I hope that helps
