Canon A80 Conversion Lenses

[SouthPaw72]

Anyone ever use the conversion lenses you can get for the Canon A series cameras. Just wondering if they are worth the price.

Me too.

I'm also wondering what a conversion lens is. Is it different than any other lens? ...I've heard of telescopic lenses before...

Canon offers what they call conversion lenses for some of their A series cameras. Basically, they're add-on lenses that give the camera more telephoto or wideness or closeness ability. You have to get an adapter to fit them on. They range from $99 - $150 each plus $25 for the adapter.

I have a .5 wide angle, 2x zoom, which both mount to a 37mm adapter, and i have a standard 52mm adapter for filters, which I mount my UV, Polarizing filters, macro lenses and whatnot. I dig it. I really havent had time to play with the wide angle and zoom lens yet, I have been so busy with other stuff, but I have had a lot of fun with the macro lenses, and the polarizing filter kicks ass.
