ok I think I've decided on a final choice for a digital camera:

Canon A610

For all my needs i think it should be perfect.

If anyone has any opinions, good or bad, I'd appreciate your comments or personal reviews.

I bought one a few weeks ago. I am not really knowledgable about photography, but I can tell you that this camera takes really nice pictures. It also has a lot of features, is fast, fits well in my hands, and seems to have pretty good battery life. Go to a store and play around with it. If you need a point and shoot, I think it would work well for you.

My friend has the A510 and loves it. I would think the A620 would only be better =)
 
I love Canon, I am more than satisfied with my A520... and Im sure that one would only be better. Canon screams quality IMO when looking for a camera, Ive seen people buy a "awesome 4mp camera" for cheap prices, then get it home and the pictures prove that the camera was manufactured with Lincoln Logs rather then having solid construction and components.
