Cannot surf the internet

I have three different computers that all have the same problem. They can all access all network resources like email and they can logon a domain but they cannot surf the internet.

All three computers are joining domains. They are all running XP Pro. They were all recently wiped out and reinstalled. One of the three could surf the internet briefly after being wiped out - the other two could not. Two of the three are on the same network, and one of these I know for sure works on a different network with no problems.

They all work fine EXCEPT for surfing the internet. They all reslove the domain name and say they are openning the page, but I get a "page cannot be displayed" error. All the machines' settings in IE and Network Properties are identical to the other machines on the network that can surf the internet.

I appreciate any help! Thanks!

Are they connecting through a router?

Are your IP addresses statics? or dynamics?

is each computer set up to use a DNS server?

Check the default gateway.

The internet connection is DSL. The DSL goes through a router, but the IP addresses are provided by a windows 2000 small business server. That server also acts as the microsoft exchange server and the domain controller. Each computer's DNS entries point to the windows 2000 SB server. When running ipconfg /all everything is correct - including the default gateway.

Thanks for the help though.

Sounds like a missing proxy server setting - are you absolutely certain Lan settings in the Connection tab of Internet options are identical?

Yes sir. 100% sure. There is no proxy server settings. Everything is blank and unchecked.

Any specific reason you're hosting your own dns? What happens if you add a secondary dns that points to your isp's dns servers?
