So I get this error when I click on Outlook:

MS Outlook: RED CIRCLE WITH A WHITE 'X' INSIDE.

Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The file c:\documents and settings\lukas\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst is not a personal folders file.

What's wrong??? Are all my emails and notes gone?!?!?!? :(

Sounds like a damaged personal folder

Cool! I used the SCANPST.EXE file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\ and it found the errors, it backed it up, and it fixed it. It works now, but can I find out what was lost, or will it forever be gone and I won't know what's gone until I actually try to look for it and won't find it

As far as what was lost, I doubt you can recover it...

I usually like to change my settings so my email client will leave messages on the server for 2 or 3 days, in case something like that happens. That way, you have that safety buffer for incoming mail.
