This is driving me insane. I cannot set my LCD (Acer H233H) I have attached to my laptop to its native res. I'm trying to run it as a secondary display via VGA from my X1400 driven E1505 and having no luck. The native just isn't an option to set the display to. Any ideas? I'm running 7 if it's relevant.

Have you tried using something like powerstrip to force the resolution?

I'm wondering if your ATI Mobility X1400 doesn't support that resolution. Try follow this

The card supports up to 1920x1200 so I would imagine that 1920x1080 wouldn't be problematic. Maybe it's because I'm using dual displays?

I'm going to check out that thread and try powerstrip right now.

No dice on either approach. This is really frustrating me. I think I may be SOL.

Have you tried downloading the display driver for that monitor?

Worked. Had tried before and it didn't rectify it. This time I installed the one labeled (digital) rather than (analog) despite using vga and it worked. Still not displaying at 75hz, only 60hz but I'm just happy to be running native res.

Thanks to all for the help.
