Hi, I just purchased 2gb Corsair DDR2-800mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1v and a radeon 5850 to upgrade my current PC. Unfortunatly, after plugging all in, i got no boot. I struggled for about 3 hours, and so far, it looks i was only able to get to boot with 4x1gb running at DDR600mhz 5-5-5-14 2.0v which is not impressive. Unfortunatly, after doing some 3dmark benchmark, i restarted my PC and the pc couldnt boot anymore. I can boot fine with 2x1gb, whatever the brand with 4-4-4-12 2.0v.

The specs are:

Intel badaxe 2 975x
Core 2 duo e6600 2.4ghz @ 3.6ghz (400x9)
TeamXtreem 2x1gb DDR667 3-3-3-38 @ DDR800 (1:1divider) 4-4-3-4 2.0v
Creative Xfi-Xtrememusic.

Bios settings
vcore 1.4500v
power slope: enabled
vFSB: 1.400v
vICH/MICH: 1.600v

9x400mhz = 3600mhz.

Memory:

non-ecc mode
reference freq: 266mhz
memory freq: 533mhz (533/2 = 266mhz = 1/1 divider)

Anyone got ideas? I could continue to struggle tomorrow to find a timing/frequency/voltage that please the 4 dimms but im going blindly right now...

I realised that there is a "additionnal power connector 1x4pin" on the motherboard, that looks like a male Molex connector. Would this help if i plug it?

Thank you.

No harm in plugging the molex connector.

Manually set the RAM voltage.

make sure you dont have any ram vdroop.. try setting the ram to 2.2v instead of 2.1v see if it will boot up with 4x1GB.. if that doesnt work try bumping up your NB voltage a tad see if that helps since you are putting more load on it due to running 4 sticks instead of 2..

Thanks for your help, i will try this when ill get back home.

My vICH is already 1.6v , what would be an acceptable limit ?

I will try with vmem 2.2v. Although im a bit scared the teamXtreem ram wont take it. Its rated 1.9v..
