Cannot recieve email in outlook, but don't recieve any errors

This is a problem that just started today after I accessed my email through the web interface at school, whenever I hit the send/recieve button, outlook connects, authorizes, then disconnects but does not retrieve any mail. It is a standard pop3/smtp email account. All my settings are the same as they have been before, and I am not getting any errors. What is causing this, and how do I fix it?

Good point - if you are looking for the mail you accessed thru the webmail, it may just be gone. Make sure you have your webmail account set up to leave a copy of the mail on the server, if that's what you are looking for.
 
no i did have new mail, and it was not deleted after looking at it. I had a theory that there may be too many folders and pop3 was having trouble figuring out which one it needed to poll, so i used imap to back up all my emails, deleted the /mail folders and recreated the account, it seems to work now....
