Cannot Install Latest Catalyst Drivers other than CD drivers.

Hi there. I purchased my ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (128MB) video card from a reliable online store. I formatted my harddrive and installed Windows ME and was able to download and install the latest Catalyst drivers from the ATI website. Later, I purchased Windows XP Professional with SP1. Again, I formatted my harddrive and after it installed the latest Catalyst Drivers, the computer restarted and loaded Windows XP, but after it was done loading up, the screen went blank and the harddrive stopped thinking entirely. I figured there may have been a defect when installing Windows XP, so I re-formatted, but the same problem occured. Trying to pin-point the problem, I re-formatted my computer and this time installed Windows ME. I downloaded and installed the latest Catalyst drivers without any problem at all. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I would love to have both Windows XP and have the latest Catalyst Drivers installed at the same time. (Currently running on Windows XP with Catalyst Drivers from CD which came with video card.)
 
Well mine wouldn't install either before. Try the Omega ones, they worked for me. Pretty shitty though.
