Okay. I just had some new parts installed yesteday on my computer. New Motherboard, CPU, memory, and CPU fan. I reconnected my harddrive, CD-ROM, and video card to the motherboard, and went tog o set things up. It doesn't see my harddrive whenever I turn the computer on, unless I wiggle the IDE wire a bit inside the case. After doing that, it detected it, and I continued to set up my computer. BIOS, reformatting (I also partitioned it since I changed my mind about how I partitioned it before), and installed Windows. Now everything works, unless I turn the computer off and back on. I can reboot (as long as the computer doesn't turn off), but I don't want to turn it off or I'll have to fiddle with the stuff again. By the way, I just noticed I said that I (ME) did all this stuff, but it was really my dad who did this, and I'm not allowed to go into the case. This is why I can't just fiddle with it whwnever I want to turn it back on. Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

answered your own question
replace that cable and ensure that its tightly seated
have your dad read the consequences of a poor signal on a cable in the Corruption 101 FAQ (cable section)

IDE is a very robust standard
but physical connection is rather important :p

Good Luck ;)
