Cannot disable Java Quick Starter

Anyone else unable to disable Java Quick Starter?

Using Win7 Pro 64-bit, Java 6 Update 17, Firefox 3.5.6, I cannot stop Quick Starter from starting. I've gone through all the options to disable auto-updates, etc., but it loads every time. Uninstalled, CCleaned, reinstalled, same thing.

It used to be shown in startup, which I could uncheck and it would stop, but it's not there now, but still loads. No longer in Services, either.

Any ideas?
 
control panel ---> java ---> advanced ----> miscellaneous ---> untick java quick starter ----> click apply

First, I don't think 'quick launch' itself even works on Vista/7 since they have Superfetch. I've never seen that option even appear to be in the startup on Vista/7. Even the checkbox to disable quick start in the Java control panel is grayed out. The only thing I do see is the update scheduler. I disable the Auto updater for Java, so for the startup entry, what I do is just delete the startup registry entry, that way it's not even 'unchecked' in the MSCONFIG startup tab. If you want to use something easier, CCleaner or Revouninstaller has a start-up manager that lets you easily completely delete startup entries.

That doesn't work in Windows 7 and Vista. It's grayed out.
