I have been looking into getting 2GB of memory in my system for a few weeks now and have been looking at different timings and speeds from various manufacturers. The kit that I am looking at now is from patriot http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220040
The main reason I am looking at this Patriot memory is because of the timings (2-3-2-5) and I have heard that lower timings are good for AMD based systems.
I am mainly wondering if any one here has had good luck with Patriot, I have heard good and bad things, mainly good. Also, is there any other memory that is around this price range that you could recommend?
My system specs are: Asus A8N-SLI, Opteron 165 (2.4 GHZ), 2 x 512 MB Kingston Value RAM, Asus 7900GT, 74 GB Raptor.
I am also looking at these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220084
mainly because they are DDR500 and would help with my overclocking.
