Can you make dead pixels?

I was just thinking. Since a lot of companies wont replace a monitor unless it has x+ dead pixels, I was just wwoonnndddeerriinngg if you can "make" dead pixels somehow. Perhaps this could be something that could be done from controlling your videocard somehow?

Well, you could just punch it with your fist, or take and ice pick and poke a few out that way....good luck on your rma.
