I didn't know where to post this quesiton so hope I'm in the right section.

I have a HP Pavilion DV9700 laptop which has 2 hard drives that was set to run in Raid 0 configuration. I have recently changed my hard drive to a larger capacity and want to make them run in raid 1 configuration, however when I checked the bios, it doesn't give me the option to raid.

Is there anything I can do to make them run in mirror configuration.

Detailed advice need, please help.

Yeah the HDs have to be exactly the same size if i am not mistaken.... If you don't want to buy a new hard drive you could do automatic backups to your 2nd hard drive...

The downloads on HP's site for th DV9700 series list the intel matrix storage manager. You may be able to enable the raid that way. Usually though, post OS installation, raid configuration is not possible.

It's also possible that the raid config was done on a software basis with some thirdparty tool that HP may have rebranded. You might try looking through the restore disk for anything storage related.

True Waypo.... I forgot about those stupid software raids. Hopefully thats not how it was setup cause those things are usually awful.

Yes the both hard drives are the same size and in fact the same identical model. They are Seagate 500GB 7200RPM drives. I will the doing a fresh install of OS it.
