Can you change the barb on a Danger Den fill port?

Just a general question since I didn't see it in the search from previous posts or topics.

My idea is this. Having the aqua computer aqua tube reservoir on my two 5 1/2" drive bays in the lian li v350. Have a danger den fill port going into the res so that it's easier to fill rather than having to tilt the computer back..etc.
I noticed that the fill port has a rather large barb. I would prefer to take it off and go with a smaller 1/4 or 8mm size compression fitting into the top of the port on the res.

Has anyone does this before?

I just want to make sure it's possible before I order it.
