can you build a better gaming system for < $600 ?

I have been out of scene for a while and am not in the "know" when it comes to newer hadware. I put this list togerther for a friend who needs a somewhat decent machine(box only) for under $600. Please help TIA

that sounds about right. but b4 i say anything, building a system for 600$ is like buying a car for a 1000$. you might get one but it wont be what you want.

also, that sounds like in range of 600$ MAYBE. that agp card kinda dents, it. If you buy it used from these forums u might stand a chance. But then again remember, you need fans,
cd-rom drive or dvd drive. w/e u want. if its a gaming machine, u WILL need more ram. at least 512 more. but that sounds in range. maybe alittle more but yea. try to buy some of the parts like the ram, agp card, cpu, mobo off these forums. you might get a deal.
