Can Vista connect to a media connect pc?

I was under the impression that Microsoft Vista could connect to any computer sharing their library with media player 11 or windows media connect just like an xbox 360 can. However I have not been able to figure out exactly how one would go about doint that with Vista. I know how to share with my xbox 360 but I would like to be able to share with my laptop when its running vista as well.

nobody has given any though to this feature? I really dont like itunes but I do like its ability to share over a netork. When you are on a campus network it really gives you a lot more options in music.
