I have an Asus M4A89GTD-Pro/USB3 that has a Radeon 4290 integrated. In addition I have a Sapphire 5870 EyeFinity card. I tried a bunch of different options with the onboard Realtek ALC892 on both the Toslink out and the HDMI out. Neither would connect to my older Sony DD/DTS Receiver or my newer Pioneer 918V Receiver.

So I disabled the onboard audio, enabled the onboard Radeon 4290, turned on the AMD 880 HD Audio option in the bios and got a AMD HDMI Output listed, my Pioneer Receiver picks up a signal, but I guess doesn't handshake properly as the Catalyst Control Center detects it as a DVI Device and not a HDMI device. Is there a workaround for this? Or can I simply disable the onboard 4290 and use one of my EyeFinity ports for HDMI out to my receiver with audio only?

I finally got it working after buying 3 Active DVI->Mini Display Port adapters and using the one HDMI->Mini Display Port adapters (which went to one of my Pioneers HDMI inputs).

The problem I am having now is that there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the video signal and only send the audio. So I have "4" monitors, when I really only have 3.
