Can this processor be upgraded?

well not the chip itself, but if your mobo can handle it then yes you can get another celeron chip with higher mhz or just jump to a p4 in the same price range or slightly higher and it will spank the celeron in test all day long. As for mods to the celerons, ummm not to sure off top of my head.
 
i like P4's... whats the best one i can get that will work with this mobo.... less than 200 dollars plz
 
beats me man. I doubt anything high. its a emachine. Not really upgradable, if so your PSU you might explode with a good video card and cpu. ROFL.
 
so it would be a good idea to get a new PSU if i get a new processor?

honestly man, dont even upgrade it. what id do is try to sell it to someone and make as much money as possible and just build yourself a new one. i could hlep ya with specs if you dont want to spend alot.
 
dont know how to build a computer really... never tried it... and i dont want to lose my data.
 
Just make a back up of all your files dude. Its not worth upgrading it,its an eMachine which is a POS. :(
 
Depending on the model, it probably won't take 800MHz Pentium 4's. Certainly and almost totally unlikely it would handle the newer Prescott style CPU's. Also as far as power supply goes, you SOL on that one. You won't get a normal PSU to fit the Emachines case.

But,,, Ya Know what,,,
ImAgonna jump right in the deep waters and hope the sharks Don't nip me in the Arsss :D and build me a Spanking new Rig :cool: and there are a lot of techy Geeks here that can help ya, and I mean that in a Good way, cause I pretty much think of my self as Geeky SciFi nut case. :D
