I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card and have found a Sapphire Radeon 9800XT 256Mb OEM on special offer for £176. Is this a good price bearing in mind I'm in the UK ?

Another card I have found for around the same price is an XFX GeForce 6800 128Mb RETAIL for £180. Which card is better ? And also what is the 9800Pro's performance like compared to the above cards ?

TIA for your help!

The 6800 should outperform the 9800XT in pretty much all respects. For $12 more, (I think that's 3 pounds in US dollars) I'd go for the 6800.

Though that's the best deal for a 9800XT I've seen.

Since I don't know what kind of prices those would be in the US I'll skip that part, but in terms of performance, it goes like this. 6800>9800XT>9800pro The 6800 is anywhere from about 10 to 25% faster than the 9800XT in most benches, and I'd probly say that 9800XT has about the same lead on the 9800pro. There are a good amount of reviews with benches out there as well to help you out. Just have to find one you like really.

Definitely go with the 6800. You get a hell of a lot more for just that little bit of money.

4 pounds more? Get the 6800. That's about 7 US, so do it for certain!

only a few dollars more the 6800nu? get the 6800. extra featues/more performance. pretty simple decision.

Thanks for all your help - I didn't realise the 6800 had such a performance leap from the 9800XT!
