I am going to be building an Intel system for a customer. He just needs it for basic internet usage and office work. No overclocking and no games. I have always built AMD systems and havent built an Intel system in awhile. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Intel celeron 1.2 + 256 Sdram + ATI rage pro + onboard audio + 10Gb HDD = 150 dollars :D

I agree that the above system would be just fine for general usage, but it has no upgradeability.

I would suggest something similar, but using a 775-based board.

Maybe a mini-ATX board might be nice, with a super quiet Seagate HDD, and a DVD-ROM/CD-RW. Integrated sound and video would be just fine, as would a "low-end" P4.

The smallest drives I can find anymore are 40GB, so I would tend to go that way.

Try finding an Intel made 865G board, a Celeron D, 2x256MB PC2100, and a cheap HDD. Use the onboard sound, graphics, and NIC, and with a budget case and PSU, you're good to go.
