i jsut started taking CCNA1 and i was j/w if anyone can explane to me how you convert deciaml to binary or decimal to Hex.

errm why are you needing to do this?

Hex = easier way to write Binary for all practical purposes (one hex digit = 4 binary digits).. but Decimal?

anywho to answer your question it works like this:
in Decimal you count:
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,etc.
In Hex you count like this:
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,1A,1B,1C,1D,1E,1F,20, etc.

So 10 in decimal = A in hex. so to convert decimal to hex you have to repetedly devide by 16. here is a good page describing it: http://www.danbbs.dk/~erikoest/hex.htm
