can my surge protector handle the load?

hey all, my UPS was dieing for a while now and couldn't keep enough voltage when on battery power to keep me comfortable with relying on it. So I ordered a bunch of Belkin surge protectors (one for my computer, one for a hitachi 57 in projection TV, one for a hitachi 52 inch projection TV, and one for the rest of my home theater stuff.) I saw that they had a 250,000 dollar connected equipment warrenty, and are rated on the box for 2655 joules of power. So I get em, look on the box and the specs on em arent too impressive, like a 1.7ghz intel system is "advanced computer" to them. I'm running the system in my sig, game cube, protable phone, alarm clock, 2.1 creative speakers, a small inkjet printer, and an N64 off it. Now outlets are still open on it, but will it be able to correctly function with that much of a load on it? Also, do you guys think that the others will handle their load?

Well, I don't think I'll be overloading it... I don't have a clue what a joule rating is supposed to mean to me anyway. Guess I'll just have to see what happens.

the joule rating is how much of a spike they will withstand
sort of

think you need to add up exactly what load your talking about (in amps),
and map the house circuit(s) and what the breaker(s) says it or they are rated for
(10, 15, 30Amps) and what else is on that circuit

the surge protector itself will have a breaker as well
for instance the Belkin 8 socket SurgeMaster II

Which it think should work out fine, if something was going to cut out it would be the breaker in my house (very weak system it seems) because the breaker for the bedroom section of my house is like 20A, this is probably the only section in my house I havn't flipped, even watching a 5.1 movie and stress testing my machine at the same time, in the same bedroom
