i resource hacked my shell32 and now i have nice icons and i dont want to loose all of my work on my next re-format and maybe i'd like to give these icons to my friends.
so iam wondering if the shell32 can b moved around diff. PCs without crashing or corrupting the system?

It should be fine, assuming it's the same version of Windows. I would rename the file, to something like shell32.new and make the replacement through the recovery console, that should be installed on everyone's machine:

X:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons - where X is the letter of your CD/DVD drive.
