I want to overclock my pc

Processor:Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6600 (2x 2.4GHz/4MB L2 Cache/1066FSB)

Motherboard:eVGA NForce 680i SLI Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0 Dual PCI-E MB

Cooler: [=== Silent ===] Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooling Fan System Kit Silent & Overclocking Proof = Ultimate cooling performance + Smart CPU & System Thermal Management

PowerSupply:420w I dont no the brand.

I head that the e6600 could overclock on stock voltage I dont no what that is? Could someone tell me if my pc is overclockable and what stock voltage is?


If my powersupply isnt good enough let me no.
 
If its a no name brand powersupply, I would upgrade it. They suck and dont provide steady voltage and may cause problems for you down the road, let alone fry your entire system.

If you have the money, I would buy a decent Powersupply. You can definately do it on what you have now, I jsut dont know how safe it will be. May be pefectly fine, may not, I personally wouldnt take a chance.


You should be able to overclock fine. I have the same mother board, different CPU. E6600's are well known for overclocking into the 3.0GHZ range. even increasing your voltage ever so slightly shouldnt hurt the processor.

I overclocked my E6420 from 2.13 ghz, to 3.6 ghz stable, and probably could still go further.
