Can I split the GTX 295?

I have a seemingly dead GTX 295. I get a blue light and red light on the card and nothing on the monitor. The motherboard beeps about a missing videocard. Since this is basically two video cards joined together can I separate them and just plug in the primary board?

I am guessing the primary board is the one not getting the right power for one reason or another. My logic is I would transfer the VRM components of the second card to it and see what happens. If that works then I'll get replacements for the second card.
 
Are you an EE and/or have good soldering skills?
Can you edit the bios of that card so it only registers as one card?

If the answer is no to either of these questions, then you can't separate them.
 
I did blow a heat gun on the boards with no success.

I am not an EE but I do have a BS in soldering. Bios hacking is no problem for me but I can't even see anything on screen to work with it.
 
this a serious thread? BS in soldering, the heck kind of degree is that? lol
