Can I run a 7600?

I am looking to purchasing a eVGA 7600 "GTS" (that's the listing) tonight, and I just wanted to know if my power supply could run this since I really have no clue what to look for =p

From my manufacterer's site, it says my model has

"Power supply

* 185 watt supply with variable speed fan
* 110 volt or 220 volt operation controlled by a switch on the back of the unit"

This is the listing of all the specs of my computer if there's more to it than that,

I have it pretty much stock except I'm currently using a Radeon 9600 XT and 1.25gb ram

Thanks.

imo, you were already running on the psu s limit.
the 7600 is a low power model but it will require more power than the 9600.

yea, i just realized i don't even have a pci-e slot lol

that's attached to the motherboard right? so i can upgrade?

The 7600 GS requires 25-30w, but most of it is on the 12v line. I wouldn't try a 7600 GT, that requires 35w. NOTE: you will need to purchase an AGP model, not PCIe. There is normally a price premium on AGP, because it is an older standard and there' are fewer cards produced.

Can you take a picture of the powersupply cover, or just tell us what it says? We need to know how many volts the thing can deliver on the 12v lines.

Of course, you could always just upgrade both. I believe you can replace the powersupply in IBM machines with any ATX supply.

It should deliver 12v on the 12v... lol. We need to know the amps/watts.

I guess I'll have to check that out.

But first, the ASUS 6800GS is looking like my best choice right now since I am on AGP 4x, but I wanted to know how is the power usage on that compared to say my old 9600XT? And secondly, theres' a 512 DDR2 one and a 256 DDR3 one, and I'm not sure as to which is better.

that eats a lot of power. in fact, i believe there's a PCIe connector on the PCB of the 6800GS. But it'd be well worth the upgrade (along with a power supply). I've heard a lot of good stuff about people modding their 6800GS's to 6800Ultra speeds.
