hi, when i play doom 3 i would like my settings to be on high. But the hardocp doom3 article said that i will need a 256 mb video card. Right now i have a 9700 pro 128mb. I was wondering if there is anyway i could upgrade the amount of memory in my video card.

no, unless you want to somehow try removing the bga ram you have now with higher density modules... which is highly unrecommendable.

gone is the day of a consumer level video card memory upgrade ...

i can recall a time when i upgrade my Diamond Viper Vesa Local Bus card to 2MB VRAM ... :p

So would a 256 mb video card make much of a difference from a 128 mb???
Depends on the card...for a low end card it's a total waste (FX5700/9600XT) but a high end card can see some benefits with newer games.
