i have a psu that is 20 pin and my dfi mobo is 24 pin... is there a way i can get it to work?

Yes: Plug it in, leave the 4 pins on one side vacant, and then fire it up.

ok well when i plugg in the psu, the standby light on the dfi expert mobo is on and after like 10 minutes, it turns on byself and starts running but i get no signal on the monitor..... and i try to turn it off with the power button on the mobo and it wont work... so i am forced to "pull the plug" to turn it off.... is the mobo defective or is it just my psu???

yup, DFI is a power hungry beast of a motherboard. You need all 24 pins, no questions asked
