Well I am having problems with Warcraft 3 now and I want to restore my computer back to a few or so ago? Is that possible? I heard that XP has some built in thing to do that? If not I probably will just format...

Coool thanks...How versitile is that? Because I have downloaded a couple songs since then that I want to keep...Is that possible?

i have no idea, i havent used it... its better to be safe than sorry, so back up the stuff you want onto CD's. i dont know if it will delete files that have been added since the time of checkpoint or if it just does settings.

when u do a system restore, everything u installed or downloaded is gone.

Uhh, no it's not. Newly installed programs are gone, but downloads aren't. I just did a restore to sunday on tuesday after some bad tweaking ;) and stuff I DL'd on tues was still sitting there.

Wait...people actually still use System Restore? Even after it was proved not to work very well, and most of these worms like to hide in System Restore to avoid detection by virus scanners? Fix the problem through troubleshooting and disable that crap.

System Restore is a joke. Use GoBack from Roxio. You'll never have to worry about a virus or tweaking ruining your system again. I've used it for years and it's saved me many times after I've "experimented" with a new program or system settings that didn't work out well. :D

Also you can select to keep any files you have downloaded after the safe point you'll be restoring to.
