Messing around with the wife's. upgrading her from a FX 5500 to an older full FPU Phenom II X4 1090T.

however under load even at stock speeds the CPU seem to throttle down to 8x multiplier.
Heatsink is not hot
Heatpipes on heatsink is not hot
Base on heatsink is not hot
backside of the mobo mounting plate is not hot.

VRM have no coolers on it and seems hot to touch.
So i think the VRM heat or current to the CPU is triggering the throttling.

Is there anyway to disable this ?

I think you meant A8 5500? anyway, VRM are throttling to prevent damages, no way to disable that unless you want the mobo to fry:dead:, best way to solve those issues is just to put a dedicated fan blowing air into the VRM circuitry which it's tremendously improved by also adding aftermarket heatsinks.. going from 65W to 125W may be just too much for that motherboard..
