can computer boot without a vid card?

Why do people keep answering this with definitive "no"s when the OP has already found that it works, after I had stated it works after quite a bit of testing (and here's a hint: I work on one of the video card related teams at microsoft)? If you have a board where it absolutely does not work, awesome! Tell me about it, because I could use one to verify some Win8 stuff. However, since there are only a couple vendors of BIOSes, and UEFI explicitly allows headless, it's unlikely you're going to find such a system.

lol.. yea, kind of funny since I'm up and running video card-less right now.

Pretty sure I have a "consumer grade" or "desktop" motherboard even if it is a fairly nice one. I can imagine not all boards will do it but mine does.
 
Some do. My old A8R-MVP (Radeon Xpress 200 chipset, but the one without an IGP) did...
