These two cards:

Aside from almost $200 price tag?

In fact, the cheaper Sapphire card has a faster memory clock by 50mhz.

Is there some new technology in a x1900XT that isn't in an x1800XT that makes it worth an extra $200? Is there some sort of new technology in an x1900XT that isn't in an x1800XT that makes it worth any extra money AT ALL? Side by side comparison I can't see any difference whatsoever.

One: ATI is trying to get rid of X1800XTs because they aren't being made anymore - being replaced by X1900GT

Two: The X1900XT has 48(compared to 16 for the 1800) pixel shader processors and thus in shader intensive games (Oblivion, FEAR, COD2) the 1900 excells. It has slower memory because it doesn't need as fast memory to still perform better

Three: The fan on that 1900 model is quieter than the x1800xt fan

Four: The X1800XT is a really good deal, the 256mb version goes for <250

the x1900xt you picked is way too pricey. Get the ATI version for about $50 less (+mail in rebate!)
