Can anyone help me with this?

Here's what doesn't make sense to me:

I know my ram works at 250mhz, I have no issues running my system at 9x250, my HTT is set to 250 with 4xHTT, and my ram setting in bios is 200 which means 1:1. I can pass superpi with no errors running at 10x240, with ram also at 1:1. This means that my cpu can handle 2.4ghz. I can also run 8x267 with 3xHTT multi. However, when I ran 9x267 with HTT multiplier at 3x and relaxed timings, super-pi fails. I guess either this is the memory controller on my cpu at that speed??? So I decided to try the memory setting in bios to 166. Dropping my cpu multiplier to 8, my htt multiplier to 3x, I was able to boot my system up to 295x8. With the 166 mem setting my ram was running at 295*5/6 or 245. However, my system fails to post at 300HTT? It doesn't make sense that if I can run the cpu at 2.4ghz, and I can run the ram at 250, why can't I run the 300HTT with 3x HTT multi and the 5/6 ram ratio? Anyone have any ideas?? I guess I don't understand HTT. Is running HTT at 250 with a 4xHTT multi the same as running HTT 200 with a 5xHTT multi? Is HTT at 333 with a 3xHTT multi the same as that too? Even with a lower HTT multi, does running a higher HTT put more stress on the cpu even with equal overall HTT x HTT multiplier and similar ram clocks???

d00d. Seriously. Explain to me the whole HTTx1-5 thing and like what the fuck? I'm used to FSB X MULTI = CPU speed. I dont get the whole htt thing and how it gets its speed exactly... kthx

Not all boards can run at 300 from what i've been able to understand.

As far as a specific relation in speed between a higher HTT but using a lower multiplier....I really don't know. The way I overclock is to try and get as much HTT in while still keeping the ram speed as high as possible with tight timings.

in simplistic terms, I believe FSB is equivilant to HTT

Well like if Your mem stands on 200 MHz with htt 5x fsb = 1000 DDR hence effective 2000 MHz. On other hand 250 MHz with htt 4x fsb is also 2000 Hz. Wich ever combination You take effective FSB shouldn't go over 2000 MHz or atleast not much over.

Then You have memory divider wich allows You to slowdown memory clock but with same fsb. So 166 and 133 are the options. Also very important for AMD A64 CPU is command T1 or T2 .
To out rule fsb isue and memory isue to be able to see how high can clock goo set memory to high settings(slow settings like cass =3 and divider to 133 MHz etc.) and T to 2 and HTT to 3. Then rize a clock to see till when You can goo with Your mobo and CPU.

Integrated memory controller is a bit picky but flexible enough to run any memory in a any mobo on the market. So first find good FSB and clock and determinate maximum CPU speed and then try to tweak memory till You gett fastest memory scores with real stability.

Command cycle at 1 works great and brings preformance. Memory clock makes difference but as well as cass settings doesn't play as important role as with PIV system.

Disregarding that memory controller on die is picky it makes better scores with same memory as PIV even with higher FSB and lower cass settings.
