A few years back there was a site that proported to have some CPUs from old Soviet missiles mated to a PCI board with ram on it for the sole purpose of SETI distibuted computing. That site got millions of hits and come to find out it was fake, a practicle joke. Now we have AEGIA and their PPU on a board that does wonderful mathmatic calculations with onboard ram in a PCI slot for the purpose of Physics in 3D games. Has anyone wondered if it could be programed for Folding or Seti ect ect? Or is this new tech soley for the purpose of watching "ragdoll animation". I understand the idea they have of Star Trek holodeck, but isn't there an altruistic use for thier product? If it could fold it will find its way into many many more PCI slots.
 
Well, I'm very sure it can be done if we write a special driver with inbedded folding stuff inside. Or a driver to make it emulate a cpu. The only limitation is that nobody got around to write that stuff.
