Does a window block sound as well as a solid panel does? I'm going to try to build a quieter computer case setup (currently running an antec clone with 6 fans + psu + 2 hds + p4 fan and its noisy) but I'd like to get an Antec 7x case with window so I can have a little bit of flare (I'm getting out of superbright CCs etc but a nice uv CC and some uv cables would look nice)

I dunno, I'm just weighing my options
 
yea, but your going to have to use thick plexi when constructing the window the thicker, the more silent you will get it, just make sure you sound dapen around the window
 
How about cases with pre-mod windows? I like the Lian-Li premade windows because they're really clean.
 
i dont really think so cause if you sound dampen the metal you will not get sound through it but if you sound dapen a window you cant see throu it, no point of a window is there you could get the lan case then replace the window with thicker plexi cause its a screw on window i belive and dapen around it
 
I was reading once about someone who used two pains of plexy glass with twosided foam tape holding it together. He said as long as they're good plexy it should look good. And the foam tape will dampen the vibration of the first pain of plexy glass and extreamly reduse the amount of sound that passes.

Sound familure, should they use the same tech in your house windows.

my lian li pc70 has a premade lian li window, and its not quiet with the standard 4 fans..
