Topic explains it, it seems like toards the end of the night my mic starts acting up like screeching.

I guess it would be possible, especially if it's a tube mic. Check all the connections and wiring...

It's a common problem on SB Live cards. A friend of mine was having constant poblems with it. He tried different drivers, etc. etc. It does it on Teamspeak and Ventrillo and unleashes an unbearably loud sound for all in the channel to experience...

We never found a solution to the problem unfortunately. He just grabbed some cheap Logitech USB mic which solved the issue. The quality is adequate.

Well its happening on ventrilo. But do you think a fan would help? Cause its almost like its overheating cause it works fine for hours then starts screeching and people cant stand it cause in game their speakers are up so loud to hear footsteps.

Well i think its overheating, i just now strapped a fan with rubber bands on my SBL!!!!!!!!! LOL, ill hook you up with some pics if your lucky. It looks like crap.

So i got out the camera and everything and the took one then the battery died, so i realized that its not worth it to see some rubber bands on a sbl so i just took them from my phone and emailed them to myself all on my phone. You get the point, so far so good. Its actually on there really tight and not going anywhere lol

I know................................................... I think its my PCI slot actually.... Cause it seems like it never did it in the old one, i had to switch them because i needed to move my wireless card to get that working. And now im having a sound problem.

Some Soundblasters are picky on what slot they are in. Might want to try moving it around more.

The only thing is i cant.... My 5900 takes up two slots and then my wireless then my soundcard and im out. I cant switch my sound card and wireless or my wireless wont work..........

So since that didnt work i took the top off of my case cause its on the ground for the moment cause its a pain to move it back into the corner over my desk or im just lazy and when i took that off it worked again............ So i think its heat but do you think it needs more air, cause i have an intake, exhaust and one on my sound card now, two on my video card, a volcano 12, and my psu has a 120mm fan.

So now im trying putting that fan on the chipset cause it only has a passive heatsink.
