I want to maybe play Everquest later on on my laptop, it's a Dell Inspiron 700m and it has integrated graphics. Is that good enough to run EQ? I'm not sure since it's a not a 3D card.

Anyone able to play it on their laptop?

EQ1 Requirements...

Windows® 98/2000/ME/XP
Pentium® II 400 equivalent or greater
256 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 7500/NVidia GeForce 1 equivalent or greater
DirectX Compatible Sound Card
28.8k + Internet Connection
4X Speed CD-ROM
500MB - 2.6GB Available Hard Drive Space (depending on how many expansions are installed)
DirectX 9.0c
EverQuest Classic and a valid EverQuest account
* Note: All Direct 3D cards not supported.

Supported Videocards...

I'd be more worried about hardware incompat. then performance issues for EQ1. It's pretty old after all.

Don't think so, I remember when they first switched many people had to upgrade their cards... but that was way back in the day... been a long time since I actually played.

I am planning to return though once the progression server goes live.

If you run pre-luclin graphics, then yes. I can get WoW up and running at a playable framerate on a 700m, you can certainly do it with EQ1. I used to play EQ1 on a dell 8100 with a radeon 7000m and 1.3 ghz p3, so a new 700m will run it.

i saw on WoW's website at blizzard that it supports intel 855GME integrated graphics, but i can't find anything about that on Sony's EQ website.

hmm. i don't care about resolution, but i know that during training, i'd like to play since i will have nothing else to do.

I had EQ1 running on my Sony Vaio PCG FX501 which has some old ATI 8mb video system in it, it was neither pretty or fast but it ran...

Dano.

I can run WOW on my Dell D610 that has intel integrated graphics no problem (even when I have a emulation server going on at the same time) so I would imagine that EQ would probably work OK.

EQ1 only needs a GeForce 1 equivalent video card to run - the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 in the 700m bests that. It's probably GeForce2 equivalent. :p So yes, it should run.
