I'm going to be picking up a Cannon A510 before i head out to E3 this year. I've been looking around but i cant seem to find out anything about setting one up with a neck strap, (don't want to lose or drop it at the show) as far as i can tell the only hardware on the camera is suitable for like a wrist strap or something narrow.

I'd like to find something that's not too rough on the neck so if it were wide atleast at that point that'd be perfect. sorry for the kind of inane question, but i don't know much about cameras and only plan on using this a few times a year.

The camera is so small and light, it might look stupid if you put it on a neckstrap. Plus every time you walk it's going to bounce around like crazy. You're better off just using the wriststrap and securing it to your wrist.. As for cases, the A510 is pretty new, but look for cases that are compatible in size with the A75/A85...they are about the same size as the A510 and you'll have a little room to spare.

hmm, I can't really justify spending more than $200 on a digi-cam. I just saw the A510 and liked it, any other suggestions out there? I don't really need a feature rich model, just something with good functionality.

For a case I’m looking for something compact. The A510 is pretty small, was just sketching out the dimensions actually, a belt sized case might work well, but what I’d really like is something I could wear under my outer shirt or jacket in the evenings, I carry my cash and stuff under my left arm, if I could toss the cam under the right that would work well.
