Let's say that...hypothetically speaking, your beautiful, much loved girlfriend loses your $500 sony digital camera, and that you're much too poor to replace it. Let's also say that you still need a good digital camera, but you have a max budget of, say $100.

Ok, so the said situation unfortunately is not hypothetical, but I just took the long way to ask: Does anyone here have suggestions on where to find a decent digital camera for a good deal? I know $100 isn't much, and maybe I'll have to indebt myself...but if the answer's out there, and you got it, maybe you could share it? Sorry if the post makes little sense, this friggin' daylight savings thing still has my sleep messed up.

My observation has been that people on this forum don't have a whole lot of recommendations to make at the <$100 level. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago that might get you started, though. I'd recommend heading to DPReview's feature search. They don't have a <$100 option, but perhaps the <$200 will still be useful to you. What model was your Sony?

$200 gets you a Canon A510, the successor to the A75. I'd save a bit and consider whether or not you absolutely must have a camera now. $100 isn't a lot to work with.

Can your gf give you a loan? =b
